I am Peter. Flemish, husband of one, father of two, friend to a few. Born a nutcase. Love to love, to admire, to create, to explore on the edge. Of myself mostly.
Studied psychology, graduated as a graphical engineer, worked in an ecology lab at the university. Turned a computer hobby into my profession. 10 years of hitech companies later, got bored and went to the Antarctic. Made my profession out of another hobby, ham radio. Started as a technician for the International Red Cross. Got hooked onto the humanitarian call. Worked for different UN agencies and NGOs. Lived in emergencies. Floods, earthquakes and mostly wars.
Ten years later, gasped for air and sailed the Atlantic. Wrote a book. Turned to the Internet to publish it and discovered the power of blogs, social media and crowd sourcing. Got hooked as a hobby, later turned it into my profession, managing a team, systems and information, for the UN. Live in Rome, Italy. For the moment, that is.
This is my home, my House on The Road to the Horizon. Welcome, benvenuti, marhaba and karibu!
